Annual Letter 2026
The thirtieth year
Dear readers,
Thirty years. In the spring of 1996 I founded mprofi AG — a young Swiss engineer with a technical idea and the conviction that one should rather build software oneself than buy it in. Had anyone told me back then that I would be writing this letter to you today, they would probably have considered me naive.
Since then, the single company has grown into a family of works. We call the bracket around them the «Beherzig Group» — a pure parent brand, not a holding construction with sale intent, not a vehicle for external capital. What we build, we keep. What we have not built ourselves, we do not buy in. This discipline has held for thirty years, and it will hold for the next thirty.
The year 2026 was a year in which we thought more than we shipped. That sounds like a pause, but it is the opposite. Anyone who builds software for thirty years learns that the most important work is often the work nobody sees — the decision not to do something, to deepen a tool rather than broaden it, to disagree with a customer requirement because it harms the substance.
On the following pages I will show you what we built, what we learned — and what we consciously chose not to do.
